PROGRAM

The Night

The Night

A couple of Tuesdays a month, we fill the room with readers. There’s no assigned book and no homework. Bring whatever you’re already reading — the novel, the memoir, the thing that’s been on your nightstand for a month — and read it alongside other people doing the same.

We start with a little time to arrive: grab a drink, settle in, and say what you brought. Then the room goes quiet for a full hour. Actually quiet. Phones are already put away, so there’s nothing to check and nowhere to be. Most people tell us it’s the longest stretch of uninterrupted reading they’ve had in ages.

When the hour’s up, we open the room back up and you find out what everyone else was lost in. Some of the best recommendations you’ll ever get come out of that half hour — and so do some of the people you’ll want to see again.

How the Night Unfolds

How the Night Unfolds

6:00 — Doors open

Grab a drink, find your seat, and tell us what you brought to read.

6:30 — An hour of quiet

The room goes silent with some light music for concentration…and everyone just reads. No phones, no interruptions.

7:30 — Talk about it

We open it back up to share what we read and swap recommendations.

9:00 — Soft close

Head out with a stack of new books to find.

WHO IT’S FOR

Readers — and anyone who wants to be one and just needs somewhere to start.

Any book, any genre, any format: bring the paperback, the e-reader, or the romance novel you’d never admit to.

You don’t need to know a soul here. Come alone, read quietly, and leave having talked to a few people who love the same thing you do.

Phone Free: A Little Time Offline

Phone Free: A Little Time Offline

For a couple of hours, we’re putting the screens away.

We’ll provide a safe place to leave your phone when you arrive, so you can settle in, play, talk, and be fully at the table.

Phones will still be there when the night is over. Hopefully with a few new numbers to add to it.
